Having established its reputation as a supplier of raw materials, the Naylor family decided to expand into food manufacturing. The selection of British coleslaws and potato salads they offer are loved in Singapore and Malaysia and are soon to be in the Middle East and North America.
QUALITY IN A CRUNCH
The British cabbage grown on Naylor’s own farms is renowned for texture and crunchiness that makes it the perfect centrepiece for their coleslaw salads,
The company’s size gives Naylor’s added benefit that they can guarantee a supply consistent in both quality and quantity all-year-round.
Speaking of all-year-round, a big issue with food manufacturing, particularly for products like coleslaw and potato salad that involve a lot of fresh vegetables and dairy, shelf life is a real challenge, particularly for the restaurant industry that needs to buy these products in bulk.
This is an issue that Naylor’s has invested heavily in solving. They have put a large amount of time and money into researching and developing solutions to provide their products with a longer shelf life without preservatives.
Indeed, a guaranteed supply is one of the key promises Naylor’s makes its customers. Because they are a vertically integrated firm, providing their own raw ingredients, processing and marketing them themselves, as well as one of the largest growers of cabbage on the entire European continent, they’re able to include a number of precautions to make sure their customers always receive the products they need. Naylor’s promises its customers a consistent supply of coleslaw salad even during more difficult periods.
As the company’s CEO, Simon Naylor says, “Part of Naylor’s success lies in our tradition of working the soil with much love and care.”
This is only going to become a greater priority as the average consumer is becoming more and more concerned with where their food has come from. For Naylor’s the transparent, honest approach they have to their supply chain isn’t just a matter of principle- it’s a key competitive advantage in the marketplace.
One of the core qualities underpinning all of Naylor’s products is that they are Halal Certified.
Currently, Naylor’s latest mission is to see their name firmly established in the Singapore and Malaysian markets. To this end, they’ve put forward the Naylor’s name as an authentic and premium British brand, farm-to-table food production company.
With over a century’s expertise in British produce, Naylor’s crops by Naylor and Adi Wira Razar, CEO Upstream Division of QSR Brands, and witnessed by Dato Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, as well as Jennifer Lopez, the Executive Director of British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Berhad. The agreement itself will see the companies in partnership together. Naylor’s now have a processing site in Kuala Lumpur, they have very exciting times ahead.
BRAND NEW OPPORTUNITIES
However, Naylor’s products aren’t just proving a success with busy commuters and hungry office workers. Some big-name brands have been attracted to the company’s combination of quality-assured ingredients and excellent preparation, resulting in high-quality end products. This year Naylor signed an agreement with the manufacturing division of globally recognised restaurant brand giant QSR Brands. The agreement will see QSR’s KFC restaurants in the Asia Pacific area use Naylor’s Cabbage for their world-famous coleslaw.
“We are excited to venture into this partnership with Naylor Farms who share the same passion and commitment to deliver only the highest quality food to our customers. We also take great pride in serving the freshest and Halal-compliant wholesome food, and this remains at the core of our business,” said Dato Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil, Managing Director of QSR Brands.
QSR Brands’ extensive restaurant network includes over 830 KFC, and 470 Pizza Hut restaurants, making the company the only fully integrated food operator in Malaysia. Its subsidiary, QSRM, is responsible for manufacturing KFC’s refreshing signature side, coleslaw, which has a huge following among Malaysian consumers.
The deal signing with QSR Brands
Simon Naylor is extremely optimistic about the future of this partnership. He said at the signing of the agreement, “The partnership with QSR Brands is an extension of our commitment to quality, where our vegetables are lovingly grown to bring the freshest flavours to our customers in an instant.”
